The Asian
Traditional Sports and Games Association (ATSGA) has formally
announced the proposal to convene its General
Assembly (GA) in 2026, along with the Election of Office Bearers for the term 2026–2030. The
prestigious continental gathering is proposed
to be hosted in New Delhi, India, reaffirming India’s leadership role
in the promotion and governance of traditional sports and games in Asia.
General
Assembly & Election Process
The ATSGA General Assembly will serve as the
supreme decision-making forum of the Association, bringing together national federations, institutional members, and
individual representatives from across Asia to deliberate on policy
matters, development strategies, and the future roadmap of traditional sports
and games in the region.
The Voting
List for the General Assembly and Elections will be finalized strictly on the basis of valid
membership status. As per ATSGA regulations:
Only those Individual, Institutional, and Federation Members who
have cleared their Annual Membership Fees
for both 2025 and 2026 shall be considered eligible voters.
All member units have been advised to regularize their membership dues within the
stipulated timeline to ensure their participation and voting rights in
the forthcoming General Assembly and elections.
Asian
Traditional Sports and Games Festival 2026
In parallel with the General Assembly, the Asian Traditional Sports and Games Festival 2026
is also proposed to be organised in
October 2026, making the event a major continental celebration of Asia’s indigenous sports
heritage.
The festival is expected to feature:
